Sherilyn MacGregor is Principal Investigator and Director of the JUST Centre. She is Professor of Environmental Politics at the University of Manchester
Sherilyn is a leading social science scholar who has made significant contributions to research and theorising on the interconnections between social justice and the politics of the environmental crisis. Working in the transdisciplinary fields of environmental politics and gender studies, her work demonstrates the importance of embedding critical analyses of gender inequality and other inequalities in environmental and climate politics and policy.
Recent research has focused on addressing the whiteness of environmental governance and centring the environmental knowledges of people who have moved to the UK from global majority countries. Sherilyn’s thought leadership on these issues is linked to exemplary engagement with governments, civil society organisations and charities to ensure her research is accessed and informs policy developments at international, national and local levels.
