Dr Helen Holmes is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology. Her research focuses on sustainable consumption, diverse economies and material culture. She is Deputy Director of Sustainable Futures, the University of Manchester’s dedicated sustainability research platform. Helen’s most recent book The Materiality of Nothing (Routledge, 2023) draws together her research expertise on the social practices of consumption and their relevance for environmental sustainability.
