Dr Saima Naaz Ansari is a research associate for the TIES project based at the University of Manchester. Her research employs intersectional feminist methodologies to critically examine and challenge Eurocentric paradigms surrounding environmental behaviour, in aim to foreground the lived experiences of those that are marginalised.

Previously, Saima worked within the gender-based violence team at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her doctoral research explored the complex intersections of identity, religion, and feminism among British Muslim women, engaging deeply with contemporary issues such as the #MosqueMeToo movement, anti-Muslim hate, and contested notions of modesty.

Saima’s scholarly interests centre around intersectionality, Islamic feminism, and feminist methodologies, with a particular emphasis on the experiences and challenges faced by underrepresented groups. She is committed to advancing social justice through inclusive, reflexive, and feminist research practices.
