Liz Edwards is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Liverpool. Her work spans human geography, urban studies and sociology, with particular interests in diverse community economies, social and cultural infrastructures and everyday spaces of urban solidarity. Her PhD examined social infrastructure in peripheralised urban geographies in the UK, exploring the transformative potential and inherent risks of diverse forms of provisioning in the context of enduring austerity. Her research draws on qualitative, immersive, creative, and participatory methods. Liz also has experience working in applied community contexts within the social economy, and as a voluntary board member for organisations across the creative, cultural and education sectors in Liverpool City Region.
