Emily Morrison is the Impact lead for the JUST Centre and Director of Sustainability and a Just Transition at the Young Foundation. Emily’s focus is how to build cross-public and cross-sector momentum to support the UK and international transition to a more sustainable and resilient society and economy. Her background is in policy development and delivery for environmental, community and social policy at local, national and international level.

She regularly supports government, public and private sectors with cross-sector partnership development, developing funding and grant making strategies, and engaging communities equitably and ethically in policymaking. She was an expert advisor to the DESNZ national public participation strategy; led the UKRI enquiry into achieving more equitable and sustainable community involvement in research and innovation; and was an expert advisor to the enquiry into the social implications of Covid-19 chaired by Sir Patrick Vallance. More broadly, Emily is also an academic focused on international movements of community and climate activism.
