Elizabeth is a social innovator with over a decade of experience delivering transformative environmental and community programmes across Hong Kong and the UK. Her early work at Clean Air Network involved leading public education campaigns, promoting car-free initiatives, and empowering citisens to generate open-source air quality data. She later redesigned Hong Kong’s recycling centres into multifunctional educational hubs, embedding community ownership and environmental literacy into urban infrastructure.
Since relocating to London, Elizabeth has continued this practice as Education, Communications and Outreach Manager at Serco, leading programmes to improve recycling participation and advance environmental equity in Lambeth. She also serves as Programme Curator and Public Engagement Lead for the Ealing and Northfields Hong Kong Club, where she has co-created the Ealing Community Mapping Programme, a participatory initiative connecting diaspora residents with local resources, uncovering hidden community assets, and strengthening social belonging.
Elizabeth’s approach is rooted in human-centric, participatory, and evidence-informed practice, prioritising dignity, agency, and equity. She combines Design Thinking facilitation, qualitative and quantitative research, and trauma-informed engagement to empower marginalised communities, especially migrants, to contribute meaningfully to decision-making and local sustainability efforts.
Her vision of a joined-up, sustainable, and socially just future centres on enabling communities to shape the places they live while addressing structural barriers and environmental injustices. Elizabeth aims to scale the Mapping Programme’s sustainability-focused phase, incorporating nature-inspired workshops, biodiversity awareness, and environmental literacy.
Through the Practice-Builders’ Network, she seeks to share expertise in co-creation, community engagement, and programme design, while learning strategies for cross-sector collaboration, systems change, and scaling justice-led environmental initiatives. She is committed to fostering meaningful, sustainable impact by connecting communities, councils, and organisations in collaborative, inclusive solutions.
