Danny Mackinnon is Professor of Regional Development & Governance in the Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) & Geography at Newcastle University. He is an economic geographer with interests in the institutions and politics of urban and regional development. He has recently led an international research project on demographic and socio-economic change in ‘left behind places’.
