Ceri Holman is an environmental social scientist at the University of Manchester. Her research explores situated responses to socially just, low carbon living, focusing on rural and (post)industrial contexts in Cumbria. She is particularly interested in how community engagement and democratic innovation can shape these responses. Ceri has worked in secondary school education and her PhD research combines place-based education with deliberative pedagogy to empower young people in approaching complex environmental problems. She uses creative methods to support participation, dialogue, and inclusive practices for change.
