Ailie is a PhD Researcher at the University of Manchester. Her research examines how meaningful social inclusion and intersectional social justice can be embedded within climate policy, action and leadership. Situated within the broader field of climate governance, Ailie’s work focuses specifically on how institutional norms, practices, and polycentric governance, shape whose perspectives and interests are recognised, represented and incorporated into UK climate policymaking and policy delivery.
She has previously worked at the Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE), where she contributed to research on the barriers to financing climate adaptation projects, which developed her interest in the role of institutions in delivering a just transition.
